Aperture, Shutter Speed, ISO - how do they all work?

APERTURE
                                                                    F2.8
                                                                       F16
1. the eye pupil
2. the smaller the Aperture the larger the f stop , the higher the Aperture the smaller the f stop.
3. a small f number will focus on one protocolar object or thing and blur out the background and the larger the f number will focus on everything including the background.

                                                              SHUTTER SPEED

1.)If you were assigned to shoot at Blue and Gold night, which was earlier this month, what shutter speeds do you think you would have to shoot at the following events that night I would like you to answer the question for the following two situations:
a.) the dunking booth
1/1000 shutter speed
b.) the food eating contest
1/1000 shutter speed
c.) the rock climbing wall
1/250 shutter speed
d.) someone working at a booth
1/250 shutter speed
e.) the DJ/MC working at the middle of the circle
1/500 shutter speed
f.) the Diamonds performance.
1/500 shutter speed

Towards the end when there is no sun and has gotten dark enough that you can't see from one end of the courtyard to the other.

1/1000 shutter speed

1/1000 shutter speed
c.) the rock climbing wall

2.)

1.Auto- When your shutter speed and aperture are selected automatically.
2. Aperture priority mode - When the shutter speed is set by the camera but you can change the aperture yourself.
3.Shutter priority mode - the aperture is set by the camera but you can change the shutter speed yourself.
 4. Manual mode - you have the power to set both the aperture and the shutter speed to your liking. Camera does nothing.

                                              ISO

                                                                           ISO 200
                                                                           ISO 3200

1. What are the advantages of shoot at a higher ISO at a sporting event like basketball or a night football game?
If you shoot at a higher ISO at a sporting event you will get the image you take to be clearer  and not as blurry because the shutter speed is lower.
2. What suggestions did the author make about using a low ISO?
To use low ISO when there is good amount of light and in when its a dark place to put the camera on a tripod or a flat surface.
3. What suggestions did the author make about using a high ISO?
To use high ISO when there is not enough light to  take a picture and when taking pictures indoors to slow down motion and also for fast shots.

F4- 1/60 the couple comes out clear and the background is barley visible.
F5.6- 1/60  the couple comes out clear and the background is blurry.
F8- 1/60  the couple comes out clear and the background is less blurry.
F11- 1/60 the couple comes out clear but darker and the background is a little blurry.
F16- 1/30  both the couple and the background are visible pretty clearly.
F22- 1/15 the background is clear but the couple is a bit blurry.

What is happening to the people themselves at slow Shutter Speeds?
- At slow Shutter Speeds the image gets more light  so then it will appear brighter.
What could the photographer do to help combat this problem?
-He could switch to a faster shutter speed in a good amount of light.
What is the lowest Shutter Speed do you think a photographer can hand-hold the camera?
-1/8 because it lets enough light pass through for a clear image to appear.
